  • Ensure effective utilization and optimization of SIEM, SOAR, EDR, XDR, SaaS security monitoring, and other security technologies.
  • Lead the development and tuning of detection use cases, playbooks, automation workflows, and monitoring strategies.
  • Maintain robust processes for threat detection, case management, and operational reporting.
  • Partner with engineering and infrastructure teams to ensure comprehensive visibility and telemetry across enterprise environments.

Incident Response & Crisis Management
  • Serve as the senior escalation point and operational leader during major cybersecurity incidents.
  • Direct incident response activities across technical, legal, privacy, communications, and executive stakeholders.
  • Develop, maintain, and test incident response plans, playbooks, and crisis management procedures.
  • Lead post-incident reviews and ensure lessons learned are incorporated into processes, controls, and technologies.
  • Conduct and facilitate cyber tabletop exercises to validate organizational readiness and response capabilities.

Threat Intelligence & Threat Hunting
  • Lead enterprise threat intelligence programs that identify, analyze, and communicate emerging cyber threats and adversarial activity.
  • Establish intelligence-driven detection strategies leveraging internal and external threat intelligence sources.
  • Oversee proactive threat hunting initiatives focused on identifying advanced threats and reducing dwell time.
  • Ensure alignment with industry frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK and support threat-informed defense strategies.
  • Build intelligence-sharing relationships with industry partners, vendors, and external cyber communities.

Detection Engineering & Security Automation
  • Oversee detection engineering programs responsible for developing and maintaining security analytics and detection content.
  • Drive adoption of security automation and orchestration capabilities to improve response speed and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure security tools and platforms remain current, effective, and aligned to evolving threats.
  • Partner with security architecture and engineering teams to integrate detection and response capabilities into enterprise technology initiatives.

Vulnerability & Exposure Management
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and business teams to identify and prioritize cyber risks.
  • Utilize threat intelligence and exploitability data to drive risk-based vulnerability remediation strategies.
  • Establish reporting, governance, and accountability processes for managing exposure across enterprise environments.
  • Support strategic initiatives to reduce attack surface and improve defensive posture.
