Whilst the subject matter of the team straddles multiple topical supply chain areas, this role will encompass a global technical research remit across the domains of Propulsion and Thermal Management.

The Impact:

Electrification is fundamental to the current and future transition of the automotive industry. As we assist our client base in successfully navigating these challenges, we are looking for a curious automotive enthusiast with solid engineering acumen and data manipulation prowess to support our product development activities from both a research and modelling perspective. The skills of this individual will help us deliver and maintain a holistic electrification planning tool to support product planners and engineers in making strategic decisions. This will help maintain our growth trajectory and further embed us as the industry partner of choice for objective insight on critical electrification supply chain and technology topics.

What's in it for you:
  • You will join a diverse, talented and intellectually curious team of twenty analysts who are experts in their respective electrification areas, working creatively to build objective insights.
  • You will be exposed to our broad client base, challenged to answer their questions and support complex decision making. You will grow your network and have the opportunity to develop a holistic understanding of automotive industry dynamics. Whilst you will have a Chinese-focused remit, you will gain exposure to global research and our global client base.
  • Your creative ideas around how best to serve our clients moving forward will be harnessed in conjunction with our team of data scientists, data engineers and project managers, allowing you to execute critical deliverables.
  • The detail-orientated requirements and cross-functional interfaces of this role will serve as a solid platform for future growth in this dynamic organization at a fascinating juncture in both our history as a business and that of the wider industry.

Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain component forecasts of vehicle and electrification technology, liaising with data science and research colleagues to integrate these into our existing workflows.
  • Perform primary and secondary research to build out our electrification technology coverage.
  • Build thought leadership across propulsion and thermal management domains, showing willingness to build subject matter expertise in line with industry electrification developments.
  • Be comfortable in outlining the content, methodology and value proposition of your research to existing and prospective clients. This includes performing client-facing presentations at internal and external events.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to drive collaboration on key strategic topics.
  • Attend and represent the business at industry events, displaying comfort in networking environments to build a breadth of contacts.

What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or a Physics-based subject. However, Business, I.T. or other Science-based degree qualifications will be adequate if supported by relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of industry experience within the Automotive industry, be it directly, in the associated supply chain including consulting firms, research institutions or academia. This would ideally be in product planning, business development, engineering or project management.
  • Native or equivalent Chinese speaking and fluency in English is essential. Any further languages are beneficial.
  • Knowledgeable in data manipulation techniques and full competency in Microsoft Excel-based software is essential. Further, more extensive understanding of data science and programming (e.g. KNIME, R, Python, MATLAB etc) is highly desirable, especially if learned in conjunction with automotive/engineering modelling software.

If you like wild growth and working with happy, enthusiastic over-achievers, you'll enjoy your career with us!
